Sights of Budapest

Budapest is the capital city of Hungary, it is lying on both banks of the river Danube. It is a city which offers many historical and cultural sights. The two banks of the Danube from Margaret Island to Gellert Hill, the Castle District, the Andrássy street and its historical environment are all the part of the World Heritage. Some of the outstanding buildings are the Opera House, the Ballet Institute, and the Music Academy. Under the street there is the Millenium Underground Railway, which was the first on the continent. Andrássy street leads to Heroes’ Square. The statues of outstanding Hungarian rulers and leaders stand in the semicircular colonnade. On the two sides of the square there are the Museum of Fine Arts and the Art Gallery. If you come to Budapest you should stay for more days to exlopre all the beautyful sights.

In Budapest the Margaret Bridge is closed because of renovation, so don't listen blindly to your GPS. :)

The Hotel Ibis Centrum, operated since 1998, can be found on the Pest side, in Budapest. Near the National Museum, at Kalvin ter, just 5 minutes walk from the famous shopping area „Vaci utca”, the business and cultural centre of the city. Most important sights are within walking distance.

The hotel has 126 sound-proof, air-conditioned rooms. There are 4 complete floors with 56 rooms for non-smokers and 4 special rooms for handicapped. Each room has shower/WC, colour TV (with Hungarian, German, English and French channels+CNN), direct dial telephone, Internet-connection and Pay-TV. All rooms are equipped with smoke-detectors and electronic key card system.

The breakfast is between 6.30-10.00 a.m, at weekends 6.30-11.00 a.m. The „Early bird” breakfast is from 4.00 a.m.
The garden drink bar: offers cocktails and sandwiches in cosy atmosphere. The bar is open from 10.00 a.m. until 12.00 p.m.

The hotel is really enjoyable and not so expensive. I liked it, but i have an advice: be patient with the traffic. :)
